Barry Krauss was drafted by the Baltimore Colts in the first round (6th pick) of the 1979 NFL Draft from the University of Alabama where he was the MVP of the ’79 Sugar Bowl game and named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in ‘78. During his 12-year career, Barry played his first ten years with the Colts and the final two seasons with the Dolphins. In the team’s first year in Indianapolis (1984), he recorded a team-high175 tackles, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. His post-playing career involved broadcasting and motivational speaking.
